Touch Grass is a sound healing app that combines real-time acoustic synthesis with mesmerizing cymatics visualizations. Unlike apps that play pre-recorded samples, every sound is generated live using physics-based models. You can play singing bowls, gongs, crystal bowls, and other therapeutic instruments by touching the screen.

Touch to Play: Tap or drag on the screen to activate instruments. Each touch creates sound and ripples in the cymatics visualization.

Choose Instruments: Swipe through 10 different sound healing instruments.

Adjust Settings: Control reverb, binaural beats, spatial audio, and visual parameters.

Guided Sessions: Use Flow, Journey, or Timer modes for structured healing sessions.

Cymatics is the study of visible sound vibrations. When sound waves travel through a medium (like sand on a metal plate), they create geometric patterns called Chladni figures. Touch Grass simulates this using GPU-accelerated particles that respond to the frequencies and harmonics you're generating. It's pure physics — no magic, just beautiful math.

Not required, but highly recommended. Spatial audio and binaural beats work best with headphones (especially AirPods Pro/Max with head tracking). With headphones, sound bowls stay positioned in 3D space as you move your head, creating an immersive healing environment.

Binaural beats are an auditory illusion created when slightly different frequencies are played in each ear. Your brain perceives a third "beat" frequency that may influence brainwave patterns. Touch Grass generates binaural beats across harmonic series for alpha, theta, and delta states. Read our research for the science behind it.

iOS 17 or later is required. The app uses advanced Metal GPU features and spatial audio APIs. Works on:

• iPhone 12 and newer (recommended)
• iPhone X/XR/11 (with reduced visual quality)
• iPad Pro and iPad Air (great for larger visuals)

Currently, Touch Grass is in TestFlight beta and completely free. We're testing features and gathering feedback before the App Store launch. Join the beta to get early access.
